If this type of progress is not being achieved, you should look over the things you are doing wrong. It is possible that you are not fully recovering between workouts if you seem weaker than you did in a previous workout session. Pre-exhaust is one method used to help you with muscles that might not quite be strong enough. As an example, you may find that your bicep muscles fatigue earlier than your lats when doing rows. To avoid overworking one muscle, target your weak muscles with isolation exercises that save supporting muscles for later exercises.
